Pick an order

Fulfilling an order runs through a fulfillment order — the warehouse’s plan for one future delivery. It is internal: not the customer’s delivery note, and it carries no addresses or amounts.

  1. Open a released sales order and choose Create Fulfillment Order from the ⋮ menu.

  2. A picker lists the order’s lines, each preselected at its full ordered quantity. Uncheck a service line — there is nothing to pick, and the action refuses the request naming it.

  3. Uncheck lines or type smaller quantities for a partial delivery.

  4. Set Warehouse to draw the goods from one location and everything beneath it. Leave it empty to pick from anywhere.

  5. Confirm. Nothing is committed: the plan can sit for days, be edited, or be closed unused, and the stock stays available to everyone.

The fulfillment order is written in the product’s base unit.

  1. Open the fulfillment order and choose Reserve.

  2. The system chooses real bins and lots — earliest expiry first — and places a hard hold on exactly those, separately for each line.

  3. If there is not enough free stock, the reservation is refused whole and nothing is held. Decide explicitly what to send now.

Held stock still shows as physical but drops out of available, so nobody else can promise it away. It also cannot be issued or moved by an ordinary movement.

Each pick posts one issue movement naming the bin, the goods, and the line’s hold. Picking more than the hold keeps will not post, so a wrong bin or an over-scan simply fails.

On a device, the warehouse app is where picking happens.

Picking short is normal: pick what is there and close.

Choose Undo pick against the original bin and enter the quantity physically put back. This posts a receipt and subtracts the picked quantity on both the fulfillment order and the sales order. No more can be returned than was picked from that bin, lot and owner.

The final pick closes a fully picked fulfillment order on its own. Close ends an unfinished one: whatever the hold still keeps returns to available stock, and the order is marked Closed.

Closing posts no stock movement of its own, never changes picked quantities, and does not confirm shipment.

Fulfillment explains the documents, when stock is held, and what each state means.
