Editing at the same time

Two people can open the same record at once. Nothing stops both of them from editing, so the form says when it happens.

Being edited by

As soon as a change is typed into a saved record, everyone else who has that record open sees that person’s initials in a circle at the top of the form, beside the buttons. Lists show the same circles next to the record in the first column. Hover the circles to read Being edited by and the names.

The circles disappear when the change is saved or discarded, or the record is closed. A browser that closes without leaving clears within half a minute.

A record being created, and a draft, show no notice. Neither can be open anywhere else yet.

When both save

The form does not change under you while it is open. Whoever saves second writes their changes over the first save, field by field. Fields they did not touch keep what the first save wrote. Reload the record to see the other save.
